Well?
It's a question I have had from an old friend of mine, used to be a very astute poster in MSN News a few years back, now writes political columns in another country after quitting the UK.
I'd love to give him a loooong, looong list, he was another Omni in his time.

The utter lack of any sense of personal responsibility. And the government's relentless quest to criminalise everything.

Well scares is too strong a word but I am worried by the way Labour has chipped away at civil liberties and the sovereignty of parliament. The relentless spin and mendaciousness from the government and the possibility that it's just now so ingrained in our political class that it will be part and parcel of any government also worries me. The fragmenting of society into interest groups all suspicious of each other and desperate to cling on to their little bit of power and money sucks too. That's all for now.
Oh, and a general lack of respect for each other and a feeling of entitlement among a lot of people.

The increasing lack of tolerance from the natives. I worry that this is going to get worse as times get harder.

It's a bit scarey that nobody has slapped Polly Toynbee. And I'm worried because I don't understand why anybody would want Johnathon Ross back on the TV.

the utter spinelessness of its inhabitants. I doubt theres another country in the world where a government would have got away with this without a fecking rebellion

True, Yord. It's been pretty easy for them. The country is divided into people who have to be up for work in the morning and people who don't. The government keep the people with time on their hands quiescent with benefits and rights whilst persistently twatting the people who are too busy working for a living to complain in any meaningful way.
Pensioners have got time to complain and they did try for a bit. I'm wondering if they'll get a bit noisier when we use up the ones that were brought up to make the best of things and start pensioning the generation that is used to having rights.

It is unfuckingbelievable. If anyone had said only a decade back that the government was going to make you , your kids, and their kids pay for the debts of others and sell you into virtual slavery they would have been carted off to the nearest fecking asylum

The man who has run The Royal Bank of Scotland (I refuse to call him 'Lord ....') has, through his own stupidity turned a prosperous Bank into one that has lost £billions and has now got to be baled out by us.
He has earned Millions of pound in the nine years he been there. He's earned bonuses this year and has retired with a multi million pound pension.
I don't mind successful people earning shed loads but this makes me sick.

The lack of common sense, the litigation that thrives in our society only for one serious outcome and that is the lack of personal responsibility about anything. That I think has got to be in the top 5, and i suppose the nanny state soon to become a police state. laws that neither benefit or grow the nation as a whole.

It probably seems quite minor but people are just so rude. No respect for others.
