no-body in the Forces will be giving a flying f**k that a bunch of pant wetting armchair PC warriors have thrown a hissy fit because sometimes soldiers say nasty things. ffs there's rather more important stuff going on right now.

As a matter of interest; is there an easy way to tell if someone is Indian Hindu or Muslim &/or Pakistani Muslim / Hindu.

Norfolk Dumpling
What are you on about 'British humour'? This seems to be restricted to the British press, it's not foreigners who raised the fuss but Brits.
There was a fantastic opinion piece in the Times about this today. I honestly do feel that people who jovially say 'Ooh it's not offensive, it's just an abbreviation' are thick, ignorant, or both.

Harry said sorry for what he said in his private vid. But it doesnt seem to be enough for some ppl. Reminds me of when Nick Griffin was in bother for saying islam is a nasty religion to a group at a private function.

I say each unto their own. If you want to be offended by it you will be, if you dont want to be offended by it you wont be. It just depends whether you want to raise your blood pressure or not.

"The spot-on-ness here is almost painful. Curiously, you often find it's the same people who moan about PC gone mad who are also moaning about the lack of manners, common sense and respect in the younger generation."
There were manners before there was PC. Possibly a decline in manners, common sense and respect is linked to an increase in PC. Conrad Hermes said that he respected Bender's diversity to the extent that the law requires. It's PC but it's not manners.
The best bit is when some gobby chav accuses you of disrespecting him. Fcuking right I do. Respect has to be earned. But I will treat them with courtesy right up until the time that they indicate that they don't deserve even that.

Big flaw in your argument there, eric.
If we got rid of the monarchy how could we have a black King?

My point is that if someone asks you to cease and desist using a particular word to describe them then you just would, wouldn't you. You might think they're being unbelievably prissy, but if you carry on using it anyway that makes you the cnut.

Did anybody ask Harry to stop calling him a Paki? Apart from the general, all-purpose, wet blanket ban optimisitcally imposed by the rising damp of the UK.

I'd love to hear some input from his mate , and I gather they were mates, who was the subject of the remark. I suppose it would be difficult for him to come out in public and say he took it in jest because of the position he now holds.
