"Maybe the idea had been implanted before they arrived in the New World." And yet skipped so many generations only to be adopted by my British born parents? Loon. Ayyan Hirsi Ali is NOT attractive. She certainly is. So where did this idea that pigs are filthy dirty animals come from. It's certainly not a british or south american view.

She's so far out of whack here it's hard to credit her judgement on any other subject really.

We eat:
sausages, bacon, scratchings, roast loin of pork, pork chops
Brazilians eat:
chorizo, shredded pork churrasceria, linguicia sausages etc etc
So where did this idea of your parents come from?

I didn't say she was attractive, but not unattractive, she's perfectly fine. Ayaan Hirsi Ali looks like someone took a chisel to her face. To put her and Iman in the same category is laughable.
I'm not sure I said not eating pork was 'British' (although Jews maybe interested to know they're not British) or South American (and I don't understand the fixation on Brazil.) I said my family don't. That's it.
There are Britons who don't eat pork, there are those who live in the Americas who don't eat pork, most of them are muslim or Jewish, others are not. I don't know why that should fascinate you so. In much the same way some people don't eat meat.

She's got goofy teeth and jug ears but everything else is in the right place. Nice bone structure, face shape, skin tone. Michelle Obama looks like a big old unit with great big hands like a man. No doubt would appeal to some lesbos or a man who wanted to be smothered/dominated. - Muz?

Well, as Jews may well be British, I will expect there is some under par grammar involved here.

Actually, you're comparing Ayaan Hirsi Ali with the wrong Obama - she's a dead ringer for Barak. Funny how you never see those two together in the same place ......

Well if you aren't a jewish or muslim british person, it is curious that you should think pigs are filthy dirty animals. It's definitely a scriptural idea and a non-christian one at that. So I'm just curious how it made its way as a meme into a household that was neither jewish nor muslim.

Have you ever asked them where it came from? Yep: "They're scavengers who eat everything." Although we were raised pescatarian so it wasd a moot point. I have no desire to eat pork so never adopted it as I still see them as filthy as I cannot bring myself to eat anything that stinks so bad. Not sure why it fascinates/interests you so.

Who? Jews or Muslims? First you say Jews can't be British, now this. I can't keep track of your bigotry.

It is fascinating, it tells a story. I know the justification - scriptural at first no doubt - is that they are creatures that crawl on their belly (ie eat detritus) - from Deuteronomy or Leviticus - but has now morphed into 'well they actually do' but I bet your family eats chickens that get fed on, among other things, dead chickens and other rubbish.
The meme in your family has to my mind definitely got a scriptural basis that isn't christian. I wasn't just being facetious when I suggested maybe it came from somehwere else on your family's distant pass.

It's kind of a black thing too. Rastas don't eat pork because they're a bit Old Testamenty. The idea that pigs are unclean (fcuking daft idea) probably spread bit into the Afro-African-Caribbean culture too. Then ended up in Birmingham...

And the idea that pigs eat crap means pigs are thereforemade of crap is rubbish. They digest their food like any other animal and excrete the hramful stuff.
