Honestly, Noam, why do you need to link to some family history? Can't we just accept that Van is an irrational clueless freak?

"It is fascinating, it tells a story"
You know earlier where I said you need to get a life...it's times like this.
I don't eat bananas and I don't drink milk with lactose either. I love coffee but hate anything flavoured with coffee and I'm not a fan of 'Foods that are cold'.
There you go, enough to keep you awake all night, seeing as what I eat so fascinates you.

Michelle Obama has got very big hands and feet. Is she a puppy or summat? You expect a 5ft 11 woman to wear a size 4 shoe? Men... I've no idea what shoe size she is. It's more a matter of proportion. Of course she would have proportionately sized feet if she was a size ten and she was 6'4", but she looks like she's left them in their boxes. And she could hide a full grown cat in those hands.

I couldn't give a toss if you ate arsenic. I'm just interested to know how this meme entered your household.

It is fascinating, it tells a story. I know the justification - scriptural at first no doubt - is that they are creatures that crawl on their belly (ie eat detritus) - from Deuteronomy or Leviticus - but has now morphed into 'well they actually do' but I bet your family eats chickens that get fed on, among other things, dead chickens and other rubbish. The meme in your family has to my mind definitely got a scriptural basis that isn't christian. I wasn't just being facetious when I suggested maybe it came from somehwere else on your family's distant pass. You do know that family does not merely =/= parents don't you? Loon. The vast majority of my family eat pork. Some of us don't. Some are vegetarians, some vegans, some pescatarians, some will eat a rat if you cook it right. That's all. No complex 'family histories' to relate. Madman. (Nevermind the fact that my family history is sufficiently diverse, to draw any conclusion on any food habits)

Why? Obsessing over the household habits of poster on an online board enters into a whole new level of freakery. IMO.

So if the large majority of your family DO eat pork what is the reason for this scriptural disdain for it in your immediate family? Assuming it;s your Dad who wears the trousers, maybe the idea came from his side of the family?
Aren't you yourself even the slightest teensy weensy bit curious?

Although we were raised pescatarian so it wasd a moot point. Is that like the Wee Frees in Scotland? Actually, goonery aside, what religion were you raised in, if any? None - Thank God My parents weren't Atheists per se, but most certainly not religious. They probably were a bit spiritual/agnostic which certainly passed onto us. But they never raised us in a faith nor did they adhere to any belief systems. I wasn't even baptised, which I wear as a badge of honour.

I'm not obsessing. I would have asked you the question once if you had just been able to reply. But you're the one going on about how my mere curiosity is 'freakery'. When in fact the only unusual thing is that your (immediate) family have this sciptural attitude to pork.

I told you what the response was when I asked. Beyond that, no I'm not particularly curious. It's not something that features very highly on the list of 'important things in my life'.

I think we're agreed that when Van says she wouldn't bother booking in advance for a restaurant, it's because she's clearly got no taste for food and is really a bit of a freak.
