You're worried about losing them, right? Not having a backup ? As well as not having just the addys stored somewhere else ?
Copy Mail Files to a Backup FolderTo make a backup copy of your Outlook Express e-mail message files:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options. 2. On the Maintenance tab, click Store Folder. 3. Select the folder location, and then press CTRL+C to copy the location. 4. Click Cancel, and then click Cancel again to close the dialog box. 5. Click Start, and then click Run. 6. In the Open box, press CTRL+V, and then click OK. 7. On the Edit menu, click Select All. 8. On the Edit menu, click Copy, and then close the window. 9. Right-click any empty space on your desktop, click New, and then click Folder. 10. Type mail backup for the folder name, and then press ENTER. 11. Double-click the Mail Backup folder to open it. 12. On the Edit menu, click Paste. 13. Close the Mail Backup window.

Nooo you shouldn't. There was never any need to import anything.
I thought the problem was a file on the hard drive, not a folder within Outlook.

It was already being used because it was the very file Outlook was currently using to show you all your emails, the archived folder included.

No .The problem is a folder in outlook .Not being able to copy the addys or save a back up of the mails themselves .Sooo .Hence instructions on how to do a backup of the whole folder and a different set of instructions ( all taken from google lol ) on how to save just the mail addys

That's what I'm saying. The only reason you'd need to import anything is if the problem file was external.

When I said 'I thought...' I meant as in 'now I know better'.
Grief I'm getting too old for this. How the hell did Sherwood do it? He was like, pushing 70 or something.

LMAO ..Oi! we've been with this problem for years .Yord first mentioned it to me when he had 1200 mail addys .he now has 3000 .It's only you adding posts that has shed some light on the fecking folder he has and why you cant copy and paste from it .
