You have to wonder why Abbott couldn’t be bothered to have tried that already. It appears to be in his power yet he couldn’t be arsed and just carried on letting women get raped for the last few years.

The Satanist Temple thing is brilliant, they've basically cooped all the lunatic "religious freedom exemotions" actual religions constantly insist is respected, to get round this depraved law by saying their use of drugs used to induce terminations are part of their rituals.
Though with the DOJ now prosecuting Texas for this unconstitutional law I don't expect it will be an issue for long, at least till the extremists on the court finally kill of the last vestiges of bodily autonomy for women expected next year on the 15weeks Missisipi case.

It has been noted that the right-wing justices on the Supreme Court are nothing if not utterly inconsistent. Brett Kavanaugh, interestingly, pointed out the massive risk of this happening should Texas's law be upheld, but still voted to uphold it because he's a total loon on women's rights and willing to sacrifice anything. But the others appear to just not give a f**k so will find some bullshit argument to pretend that the two things are, in fact, not the same and will overturn any anti-gun laws.
